Davies Turner opens Bristol hub extension

21 May 2008

Davies Turner has opened a multi-million pound extension to its Bristol hub, which it began working on last summer. The firm's new building at Avonmouth has 21 loading doors and can hold around 11,000 standard pallets in high-bay racking. There are also four mezzanine floors, which provide an extra 8,000m2 of operational floor area. Philip Stephenson, Davies Turner joint managing director, says: "This is the basis of much-needed expansion for Davies Turner in the South West, as our transit depot  was already working to full capacity.

"We were fortunate that the extra land adjacent to our existing building became available at exactly the right time last year. "We have installed compatible CCTV and security systems that are integrated with those installed throughout the rest of the group facilities." The company's other main UK bases are Birmin-gham, Dartford, Heathrow, Manchester and Cumbe-rnauld, North Lanarkshire.
