AEA wins £850k in training funds

22 May 2008

AEA Technology has been awarded a government-funded contract worth up to £850,000 to manage a driver-development programme to support greener and safer driving among truck drivers in the aggregates sector.

To qualify for the scheme, operators must carry out 50% of their time or mileage on aggregate haulage. The contract extends AEA's role, managing programmes within the DfT's Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving (SAFED) scheme.

The £850,000 will part-fund up to 5,000 drivers until 2010  to attend the one-day SAFED training. For further details, click here.
