Freightliner, the UK's second biggest rail freight operator, could be set for foreign ownership, if talks with Bahrain-based investment bank Arcapita are successful.
The company is on the verge of entering exclusive discussions with Arcapita after Freightliner's private equity owners, 3i and Electra Partners, put it up for sale earlier this year. The deal is said to be worth around £350m. SNCF and Go-Ahead are also said to be interested.
