Smith Electric Vehicles has revealed what it claims is the world's largest electric-powered truck with tipper body. Operated by Balfour Beatty and based on Smith's Newton 7.5-tonner, it comes complete with 120kW electric motor and 84kW battery pack as well as a healthy 2,400kg payload thanks in part to the lightweight aluminium tipper body. Capable of 50mph and with a range of 100 miles, the tipper is on sale now.
