Hauliers across Europe are taking action over rising fuel prices. Trucks in Spain will be parked up indefinitely after drivers began a strike on Monday. Some 90,000 owner-drivers and small operators have formed a picket line close to the French border at La Jonquera.
The Dutch are considering further action and the French are also expected to strike, despite the threat of fines as high as €15,000 (£11,900) for hauliers that refuse to pay the extra fuel duty due as a result of higher prices.
In Scotland hauliers formed a convoy on the M8 on Tuesday 10 June as CM went to press to highlight the impact of rocketing fuel prices and hand a petition into Parliament.
