TransAction is planning a three-pronged attack on the 2 July for its third protest this year against rocketing fuel prices. Following a meeting with the Metropolitan Police on Tuesday (10 June), TransAction plans to kick off the day with an escorted drive-through in Parliament Square.
Peter Carroll, who runs Seymour Transport and acts as a spokesperson for Trans-Action, says: "The Metropolitan Police have been very accommodating and want to do what they can to enable us to execute our rights to lobby the government."
He adds: "Our intention is to congregate on the A40 and then drive through Parliament Square. Simultaneously, we also want a congregation of people to [engage in a] mass lobby of the Houses of Parliament - both inside and out - and we will also hold a rally as close to the Houses of Parliament as possible.
"We're just waiting for final approval from the police of our plans and then we will em-bark on a massive awareness campaign." TransAction is urging everyone to get involved this time as it doesn't feel it's "quite got the message through to the government yet".
