12 June 2008

Frozen and fresh goods haulier Edgley Distribution Express has shut down after going into receivership. The decision meant 35 staff were made redundant at the Norfolk firm on 30 May. According to its last set of abbreviated accounts, for the period ending 31 December 2006, the company owed consulting business Wakefield Consultants £800,000, as well as £200,000 in management charges.

Its fixed assets were worth £754,000 for the King's Lynn firm, Laura Stringer says its assets are in the  process of being sold. She adds: "There's just four of us on site now I'm working in the office to help wind it down." Company director Robert Arnold did not respond to CM's call before we went to press. The administrator at P and A Finance Services was unable to comment.
