Wind barriers for Forth Bridge?

19 June 2008

A working group has recommended that wind barriers be fitted on the Forth Road Bridge to stop trucks toppling over in gusty weather. The group, set up by the Forth Estuary Transport Authority in response to several incidents over the past year, says barriers could be placed around the two main towers of the bridge, where gusts are strongest. However, it has ruled out full wind shielding along the length of the structure.
