A competition designed to encourage school-leavers to consider a career in transport planning has been launched by transport planning consultancy MVA. Aimed at sixth-form pupils, entrants have to submit a 1,500-word essay on how a technology or behavioural change will help reduce emissions, how transport policy can help reduce the environmental effects of transport and what range of policies would make the greatest impact. The winning student will have his or her university fees paid in full for a transport-related undergraduate degree.
