DAF introduces 'crowbar-proof' night lock

Friday 04 July 2008 12:00

In response to driver feedback over in-cab security, DAF has introduced a night lock which it claims will withstand a crowbar assault. The lock consists of a hardened steel pin mounted on the cab rear side wall which slides into a reinforced armrest on the door.

In an emergency, the lock is easily released by the big red button, while an external decal warns bandits not to bother.

The DAF Night Lock will shortly be available through the DAF parts network for retrofitting to the XF105, with applications for earlier XFs available early next year.
