Freight Best Practice running benchmark workshops

08 July 2008

Freight Best Practice (FBP) is running two workshops this month to encourage trunking and aggregate sector transport operators to take part in its online benchmarking pilot. The workshops, being held in London on 8 July and at Lymm Services, Cheshire, on 10 July, will demonstrate how online benchmarking will work, what its capabilities are and provide an opportunity to ask questions.

Scott Hardy, principal consultant for Faber Maunsell, manager of the pilot on behalf of FBP feels  online is the next generation of benchmarking. "It actually allows transport operators to compare their own performance against industry peers and to determine best in class, while maintaining anonymity.

"Most importantly, however, the benchmarking results an operator will obtain from the system are live and up-to-date so they will never become outdated and obsolete." The pilot will run until March 2009, and will initially target the trunking and aggregate transport sectors for any vehicle above 7.5t GVW. More information from: scott.hardy@fabermaunsell.com.
