Following protests from hauliers in the region, Welsh Transport Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones has written to the Treasury pointing out the pressures faced by the road transport industry because of fuel prices.
Following protests by truckers in Wales in recent months, hauliers met Jones last month. In his letter to the Treasury, he stated the Welsh Assembly government was concerned about the impact the increase in fuel costs was having on the haulage industry and transport services in Wales.
