Freight Best Practice (FBP) has produced a motivational case study, Power to your People, which shows real-life examples from three firms of how motivated staff can improve efficiency, reduce costs and reduce environmental impact.
Peter Binham, FBP press officer, says: "We wanted to produce some case studies to help operators learn from their peers. Through Power to your People, they can learn how like-minded operators have saved money and overcome certain problems."
One of the firms highlighted in the case study is the Hardstaff Group, which runs a fleet of more than 200 vehicles. It explains how employing three full-time qualified training instructors to help its drivers reach the highest efficiency levels possible, coupled with a driver incentive scheme to meet efficiency targets, has resulted in a 5% saving in fuel and a reduction in CO2 emissions of around 680 tonnes over 12 months.
