Nissan has developed a 'smart' accelerator pedal which its tests show can improve fuel economy by 5-10%.
ECO Pedal, which can be switched off, detects when pedal pressure exceeds the amount required to accelerate with optimum economy if a nagging warning light is ignored, it physically pushes the pedal back to the most favourable position. Nissan is confident that it will be available on production vehicles next year.
