Road maintenance hire and contract specialist DP Cold Planing is to track its fleet of vehicles through Masternaut Three X satellite technology. DP Cold Planing, which has Mercedes, Scania, JCB and Wirtgen vehicles in its fleet, can now track all its trucks through a driver ID key, which relays the position of the vehicle over the internet to the company's head office and to managers' Personal Digital Assistants when off-site.

said the satellite tracking system would improve fuel usage throughout the company, allow driver safety to be monitored and enable it to react to emergencies quicker. "Our original system didn't provide the flexibility we needed to support our business plans," he says.
"With Masternaut there is no possibility of missing anything. It not only provides the real-time accuracy and developmental flexibility we need, it also adds a high level of security for our operators and our expensive equipment."
The DP Road Patcher is the only machine of its type in the UK that allows potholes to be fixed on the spot by a single operator.
