A Dover-based haulier has applied to have a liquidator appointed to another UK haulier that it says owes it money. Heritage International Transport has lodged a petition at Aberdeen Sheriff Court asking for Aberdeen-based Trux + to have an interim liquidator put in place.
Both firms have so far declined to comment in detail, although it is understood that the dispute is over a bill that has allegedly remained unpaid since February.
Colin Howie, the solicitor acting for Trux +, says his clients "are considering the position with a view to resolving the matter". A director of the company was also quoted in the Aberdeen Press and Journal saying he hoped the matter would be resolved soon.
Kevin King, managing director at Heritage International, said this week that he did not wish to comment because the negotiations were "at a sensitive stage".
Both Trux + and Heritage International were set up in 1996, Trux + following the collapse of Kildonan Transport, Turiff. Heritage International specialises in full-load consignments of temperature-controlled products, including food, fresh fruit and pharmaceuticals.
