South Wales timber contractor Karl Jones & Sons has added a Volvo FM480 6x4 tractor fitted with a forestry crane to its all-Volvo fleet.
Karl Jones, who has 20 years' experience in forestry and supplies wood for biofuel, says: "I started by buying used Volvos, and we've only just taken an M-plate vehicle off the road. We got our first new Volvo four years ago and have been running with them ever
since.
"The new FM is rugged-looking, there's plenty of room inside and the low overall cab height is good for the work we do in the forest as it helps avoid overhanging trees. This was a major factor in choosing the FM. They are reliable trucks that don't fall apart on tough jobs like forestry."
The FM, supplied by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre Wales and West of Pontypridd, came with a five-year R&M package.
