Police seek lorry driver in connection with death

29 August 2008

Police are seeking a lorry driver who may be able to provide vital information on the unexplained death of a man planning to hitchhike to Europe. The lorry driver, who frequently visits a truckstop in Ross-on-Wye, is being sought by West Mercia Police for information surrounding the mysterious death of 40-year-old David Langdon, nicknamed Horse.

Langdon's body was discovered on 14 August on the remains of a bonfire at his own home  in Wormelow, Herefordshire, and a post-mortem failed to identify a cause of death.

While four people have been arrested and are currently on bail, the police understand that Langdon may have been looking at hitching a ride to the Continent, and are keen to establish whether these plans were discussed with the unnamed driver. Further toxicological tests are being carried out to determine when Langden died and whether it was murder, suicide, or an accident.

Anyone with any information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 0800789321.
