Peugeot cleans up EDF's fleet

04 September 2008

Peugeot has supplied EDF Energy with 87 low-emission Partner vans. The additions form part of the energy supplier's pledge to reduce transport CO2 emissions by 20% before 2012. The vans are equipped with a 1.6-litre HDi 90 engine, air conditioning and twin side-load doors.

Peugeots currently account for 40% of EDF's 5,000-strong fleet. Peugeot's new Bipper van , with low CO2 emissions of 119g/km, is specifically designed for city driving and may be added to EDF's London fleet in 2009.

Chris Pascall, head of transport for EDF Energy, says: "The van fleet we inherited had average CO2 emissions of 174g/km. To help meet our strict emissions policy, we will be replacing this fleet with the Peugeot Partner [and will] benefit from an 18% reduction in CO2."
