Three rigids and three artics for W Nichol

04 September 2008

Dumfrieshire haulier W Nichol Transport is among numerous hauliers to have new vehicles arriving in their fleets as the new registration period starts.

The 58-plate Scania R460 is one of an order of six for the Lochmaben-based firm: three rigids and three artics. The artics are used for bulk woodchip haulage and the rigids for drawbar work pulling timber.

MD William Nichol says that Scania  has been the mainstay of the fleet since former favourites ERF and Foden fell by the wayside: "It's the best for our job - there's no comparison to anything else."

The vehicles were purchased from Reliable Vehicles in Bellshill and take the fleet to 19 trucks.
