Leighton Buzzard, Beds, firm Transhaul (UK) has taken delivery of three Montracon trailers. The 13.6m pillarless curtainsiders, with flush rear doors, were supplied by local dealer BS Trailer Services. Transhaul has also ordered another two Scania R480 topline tractor units, as well as four P310s, for delivery in November.
All the company's trucks are now fitted with Navman satellite tracking. Nigel Machado, Transhaul managing director, says: "With the new Pallet Track hub due to open in October, we are committed to building substantially on the current volumes handled."
Transhaul currently stores more than 12,000 pallets as part of its Pallet Track division. It covers the LU, SG, HP, HA and WD postcodes, and handles about 350 to 400 pallets on a daily basis. The company recently introduced the Delta WMS software system to help manage its warehouse operations. Transhaul also recently won new business with Expeditors International and Peri Products.
Machado says his business is currently growing at 35% year on year and believes the firm will turn over £6m this financial year. He adds: "On the whole we are finding business brisk which given the financial climate is pleasing." The firm is also currently going through due diligence for the possible acquisition of a small Oxfordshire company.
