NYK gives £20,000 to children's hospice

17 September 2008

NYK Group Europe has awarded £20,000 to a children's hospice in an attempt to promote corporate social responsibility.

Keech Cottage Children's Hospice in Streatley, Bedfordshire was awarded £20,000 as part of the logistics group's £150,000 European Corporate Social Responsibility Awards scheme. The hospice was nominated  by Terry Newman, operations manager for NYK Logistics' Bradbourne Point site in Milton Keynes.

Newman praised the support the team gave to his colleague Steve Stewart, as well as to his three-year-old daughter, whose illness requires constant care. The donation will fund overnight stays in the hospice and finance community nurses to visit children in their homes.
