The Fuelcard People insist new fuel cards are essential for all fleet sizes to make savings, and it is "astonishing" if any operator does not take advantage. According to the fuel card agency, some firms are still using the same fuel card they did years ago, unaware that new cards can offer diesel savings of 2-3p per litre.
Cards such as the Arval AllStar fuel card only offer pump prices. A spokesman for The Fuelcard People says it is astonishing how many use old cards, adding that any
company spending £500 a month on diesel can obtain a beneficial fuel card.
Steve Clarke, general manager for the group says: "Most people are not aware that you can get a fixed fuel rate throughout the country." With cards from brands such as Esso, an operator does not pay for fuel immediately, instead an invoice will be sent out approximately two weeks later.
