In a difficult time for the logistics industry, the RH Group has seen pre-tax profits rise 20%, as it shifts focus from driving volume, to focusing on a profitable business. For the financial year ended 31 December 2007, the logistic firm's pre-tax profits increased from £3m to £3.6m.
While turnover was up 3% to £122.3m, compared to £119.2m in the same period for 2006, managing director Ian Baxter claims that the small increase was expected, but that priority had been placed on improving pre-tax profits.
Baxter adds: "We have passed some costs such as euro exchange rates and fuel on to customers. We have also been very conscious and careful of credit management."
