The boss of a leading aviation haulage specialist believes fuel surcharges and the slowing global economy are giving companies in the industry "plenty to think about".
Peter Castree, chairman of Davies Turner Air Cargo, says the key to his organisation being able to weather the current situation in the international airfreight market is the ongoing improvement of its global agency network and working with carefully selected partners.
He adds: "We remain convinced that ongoing investment in people, infrastructure, service development, customer service and IT initiatives will help us to maintain our position as the UK's highest placed privately owned independent freight forwarder and provide a viable alternative to the multinational forwarders."
