The police have seized 18 people hiding in the back of a refrigerated trailer. Gloucestershire Police were called to the scene at 6pm on 19 September after a driver heard banging on the side of his lorry near a haulage depot in Brockworth.
No signs of forced entry were found on the ERF refrigerated unit, which had travelled from France.
Police discovered 17 people who could
not speak English and one man who claimed to be from Sudan in the lorry. It is thought they had been in the container for 15 hours. They were detained overnight and have been passed on to the immigration services.
