Knowles Transport has received planning permission to upgrade and extend its Wimblington, Cambridgeshire depot. The plans had been delayed after the local council claimed the operator had stored materials at the site without permission.
MD Tony Knowles says the upgraded depot will help the company, which runs 65 tractor units and 120 trailers, grow its business.
Meanwhile, the company reported a £1.1m increase in turnover to £25.3m and a 6% rise in pre-tax profit to £3.3m for
the year to 31 December 2007. Knowles says the growth has been organic.
