Culina Logistics has signed an agreement to provide a chilled storage and distribution service for Unique Fine Foods. The company will distribute Unique's deli counter products to Waitrose stores across the UK, on an initial one-year contract, using its Milton Keynes depot. Culina says the deal could eventually expand to include ambient products.
The firm will receive orders directly from Waitrose by electronic data interchange and pick them up using hand-held radio-data transfer
scanners. Jeremy Blower, MD at Unique, which imports many of its products from China, Germany, France and Italy, says: "Culina has a proven track record for reliability in food and drink logistics and has provided a solution that meets all our needs."
