Fowler Welch Coolchain has taken on 10 new Volvo FH480 artics and has 30 more on order for delivery in December. The logistics firm says the new trucks - supplied by Crossroads Truck and Bus - will all pull fridge and ambient trailers as well as sea containers, and regularly run at 44 tonnes for both outward and return journeys.
They are the first FHs to
be operated by Fowler Welch for 14 years and were secured through Volvo Contract Hire. Maintenance will be carried out by Volvo dealer A Culpin and Son, based near Fowler Welch's centre at Spalding, Lincs.
