Small operators wanted for fuel-price hedging

16 October 2008

Fuel-price hedging firm Infin Management is looking for operators to take part in a pilot to test its Fuelbeater product, aimed at operators using less than 30,000 litres of fuel a month. As MT reported in the summer, Infin has developed a way to offer fuel-price hedging to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as historically fuel hedging has only been suitable for large businesses.

Infin's MD Kelvin Seddon says: "We already have some very large operators and retailers using our main  hedging service, but now we want to test the SME version of Fuelbeater with a handful of willing operators. We want to find out how it will work for them, what they think of it and also iron out any teething problems."

Fuelbeater is also now suitable for single vehicle operators, adds Seddon. Previously it was only designed for hauliers with 10-plus vehicles. Interested operators should go here. Seddon will talk about hedging at MT's Fleet Management conference on 6 November. For more information, go here.
