Wincanton is offering to set up consolidation centres across the UK for construction companies. The company says it will be able to provide:

• Online order tracking to ensure safe delivery of goods
• Secure housing and transportation of goods
• Management information including fully visible and transparent key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Waste management to remove surplus packaging from the centres
• A reduction  in fuel costs and carbon emissions through route planning and road mile reduction

Wincanton will work in partnership with construction logistics firm Clipfine to deliver its new service.

Nick Graham, business unit director at Wincanton, says: "Our offering is totally unique in that it is available to companies nationwide. "The environmental impact the initiative has the potential to make should also not be understated."
