Stobart Group has posted pre-tax profits of £11m for the six months to August on revenues of £199.2m. Rodney Baker-Bates, Stobart Group chairman, says that the current economic climate is not affecting the company's volumes.
He adds: "We now have a balanced business that is delivering an ever-increasing range of transport solutions to a broad and growing client base. The board looks forward to reporting on further progress, including a result for the year as a whole that will be in line with our expectations."
In July, Stobart bought Innovate's chilled and ambient business from administrator BDO Stoy Hayward for an undisclosed sum. During the period, the firm also acquired James Irlam Logistics and WA Developments.
Stobart will pay an interim dividend of 2.7p per share.
