Cotswold Roller buys Andover stepframe

28 October 2008

Andover Trailers has produced a stepframe design that is both easier to load and comes with reduced aerodynamic drag for Cotswold Roller Hire. The purpose-built trailer has a low-profile neck and hydraulic loading ramps with a fold-forward function to reduce air resistance and save fuel.

Evesham-based Cotswold Roller Hire MD Neville Thomas says: "In recent years, we've been using the neck space on our trailers much more often when carrying a full load, and the semi-sloping design lends  itself to loading these heavy machines." The tri-axle trailer has Gigant lifting rear-steer air-suspension and a remote-controlled winch that can pull 5,400kg. It will be used behind a new Volvo FM12 440 tractor.
