Slowdown to hit Norbert Dentressangle UK business

Monday 03 November 2008 12:00

The current economic slowdown will hamper Norbert Dentressangle's efforts to turn around its UK business and improve performance at the former Christian Salvesen division.

In the nine months to 30 September the company boosted its turnover by 81% to €2.38bn (£1.87bn). This figure includes the integration of Christian Salvesen organic revenue grew by 6.5% to €1.311bn. Revenues in the transport division rose by 63% including Salvesen, and 5.7% without it, turnover for logistics increased by 113% with Salvesen and 43% without.

But the company says it has achieved a lower rate of growth in transport since 30 June because it has reduced the size of its fleet ahead of the economic slowdown.
