London to rephase traffic lights

07 November 2008

Traffic lights could be rephased to improve traffic flow as part of London mayor Boris Johnson's transport plans for London.

While there was no mention of any ideas specifically to improve the flow of freight into the capital, the mayor's Way to Go policy aims to smooth traffic flow by rephasing lights as well as clamping down on companies that leave roadworks in place for longer than they should.

Johnson has also stated his intention to provide a fair approach to all motorists, which could be a positive development for lorries.

No one from the mayor's office was available to tell Roadtransport.com whether HGVs had been considered in the Way to Go plan.
