Freight Best Practice scheme launched in Scotland

A free advice scheme which aims to improve the efficiency of the freight industry in Scotland has been launched. Freight Best Practice is offering help to hauliers north of the border with advice on saving fuel, developing skills, equipment and systems, performance management and multimodal. This consists of:

  • Guides explaining best practice
  • Case studies
  • Information and training DVDs
  • Pocket  books for drivers
  • Support software and interactive tools
  • Benchmarking surveys for a range of sectors
  • Research reports on transport and logistics developments
  • E-news updates
  • A website resource centre

The Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Climate Change in Scotland, Stewart Stevenson, says: "This £500,000 investment will ensure Scottish hauliers have access to the latest industry best practice, allowing them to play their part in tackling climate change as well as saving money for their business."
