A strong ladder-frame chassis and compact overall dimensions helped persuade Wing Security to buy two SWB Mitsubishi Fuso Canters to remove illegally parked vehicles from London's streets.
The Toddington-based firm works for 11 local authorities and the Metropolitan Police and until recently used ex-USAF Dodges, which fell foul of LEZ rules. Its two new Euro-4-engined Canter 3C13s meet the emissions standard required for vehicles operating in London.
"Unlike some van-based 3.5-tonners,
the Canter is a proper little truck. It's built to last, as well as being popular with our drivers, who appreciate its comfort and impressive manoeuvrability,' says MD Gordon Austin.
