MAN is supplying a range of rigid trucks to Wales and West Utilities under a two-year framework agreement. The 17 chassis include 12 TGM 6x4 26.280s, equipped with grab-loaders and tipper bodies, two TGL 12.220s and three 7.180 chassis, one of them a mobile workshop.
"We selected MAN on best value," says transport manager Andrew Pettiford, "and lead times were exceptional. MAN's EGR engines fit in better with our maintenance and fuelling requirements, AdBlue seems such an inconvenience, and it is one we don't have to worry about."
Wales and West, based in Newport, maintains and renews around 35,000km of gas distribution pipeline infrastructure and gas meters in homes and businesses from the northern Welsh border to Cornwall.
