Sat-nav manufacturer Snooper believes it has answered hauliers' prayers with a product to reduce the number of trucks getting stuck in tight spaces. The Snooper Syrius S2000 Proline with Truckmate sat-nav system uses routing designed for HGVs and other large vehicles in order to stop the recent spate of lorry sat-nav mishaps.
The system accounts for low bridges, narrow roads and roads with weight restrictions. Snooper director Steven Ballard claims: "Standard sat-navs generally think you are always driving a car, and this can cause huge problems."
For the UK and Ireland, the product retails at £399.99 including VAT.
