Carntyne Tran strike is off as drivers take 4.25%

25 November 2008

Drivers at drinks delivery firm Carntyne Tran have agreed to call off a 24-hour strike and accept a 4.25% pay rise. Following the rejection of a below-inflation offer of 3.5%, staff voted to hold a 24-hour strike - but an Acas meeting between the drinks distribution firm and union Unite on 21 November saw the company make the improved bid. On 22 November, members agreed to the 4.25% pay rise and cancelled the strike proposed for Wednesday 26 November.
