CV Show revamp on the cards?

26 November 2008

The organisers of the CV Show will review how the 2010 exhibition can best meet exhibitors' and visitors' requirements, following the decisions by Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault and Volvo to follow Scania, Daf and Isuzu and withdraw from the 2009 show.

CV Show chairman Nigel Emms tells Motor Transport: "The 2009 show is viable for exhibitors and visitors.  It is a unique platform for the industry... to keep up with new technology and technical developments."

Speaking on behalf of Iveco, he adds: "We understand that the CV Show Partnership [the show organisers: the RHA, SMMT and the Institute of Road Transport Engineers] is also taking the opportunity to restructure the show to meet the latest market requirements."

As MT went to press, a CV Show spokeswoman confirmed the following van manufacturers are still attending:

  • Citroën
  • Ford
  • Fiat
  • LDV
  • Modec
  • Nissan
  • Peugeot
  • Renault
  • Smith Electric
  • Volkswagen

Daf has also withdrawn from next autumn's RAI Show in its home country.
