Northampton-based C Butt has more than doubled pre-tax profit for the year to 30 April 2008, with turnover up 10%. The distribution and logistics group saw pre-tax profit grow from £366,190 to £612,276, while turnover rose from £30.7m to £33.8m.
Group operations director Karl Hodgkinson tells MT: "The growth is down to four key areas: improved management and financial controls a successful business development plan internal network development of the business and controlled growth."
Hodgkinson says the firm has seen similar growth this year and is projecting turnover of between £35m and £40m for the financial year, ending 30 April 2009. He adds: "We're not chasing turnover, we're not desperate for new business, we just have a clear focus on what we do. We're a family-run business that adds the personal touch to its customers."
