Wincanton has won a two-year contract to provide transport and warehouse services for the Deckers Outdoor Corporation - parent company of footwear retailer UGG Australia. As part of the deal, the logistics firm will distribute goods from its Greenford, West London site to UGG retail outlets in the capital.
UGG recently opened stores
at London's new Westfield shopping centre and in Covent Garden. Martin Taylor, Wincanton's managing director, retail, adds: "The brands within Deckers are growing and we are looking forward to the challenge of future expansion both within the UK and the rest of Europe."
Terry Clarke, vice-president of operations and finance at Deckers Europe, says: "We have plans for growth in Europe and feel that Wincanton is well placed to support us."
