A planned strike by truck drivers at Aberlour, Banffshire-based McPherson has been postponed to allow a ballot on an improved pay offer. Drivers held a 24-hour strike on 26 November and were due to start  a three-day strike on Friday 5 December.

Unite regional representative Tommy Campbell confirms: "The strike has been postponed while we consider a new offer. We are holding a ballot which will decide if any further action is required."
