The West Northamptonshire Development Corporation was expected to approve £350,000 of funding for a plan to tackle truck crime in a business park in Northampton. WNDC members were due to vote of the plan on Tuesday (9 December), and the paperwork for the meeting shows a recommendation to approve the scheme.
The Brackmills Industrial Estate has become a blackspot for truck crime and the proposal to improve security at the site includes CCTV and an Automatic Number Plate Recognition system.
The overall cost of the schemed is believed to be in the region of £2m, and Northamptonshire County Council is seeking Growth Area Funding and looking to set up a private public partnership to complete the work.
