Tesco's plans to set up a massive regional distribution centre (RDC) on the former Andover airfield site have taken a step closer with the development receiving planning permission. Test Valley Borough Council has approved the plan by developer Goodman for an industrial estate which includes a one-million-square-foot warehouse that Tesco  has been tipped to lease.

Tesco corporate affairs manager Juliette Goodman says: "Tesco will be examining this agreement once completed and will be in contact with Goodman.  "However, it is likely to be some time following a detailed review of this agreement before Tesco makes any decision on its next steps."
