Krone says trailer manufacturers with the most security-conscious products will emerge as market leaders. The German firm claims there has been a growing trend over the past few months for prospective customers to demand high-security trailers.
Jason Chipchase, Krone Trailers UK sales manager, says: "It is definitely at the forefront of most fleet operators' minds we get questions all the time about the ability
of the trailers to fight off thieves and illegal immigrants.
"One of the main reasons for us being able to offer steel or glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) trailers is that we recognised that some customers needed extra strength to combat crime of all sorts."
