As part of its truck-replacement programme, Hayes Garden World has bought a Renault Premium 450 6x2 tractor unit because the brand has been "reliable in the past".
The vehicle will be used for container haulage, transporting goods from South Shields near Newcastle to the company's central distribution centre in Kendal, Cumbria.
Richard Hayes, Hayes Garden World managing director, says: "We chose the Renault Premium based on a history of running quality. It is also great value for money.
"We feel the Renault Premium has good residual value, which is obviously important in the current economic climate."
Jonathan Alexander, Hayes transport manager, says: "We replace our trucks every three years and we decided to go with the latest Premium 450 6x2 because we've had good experience with our local dealer JDS Trucks and the trucks have proved reliable in the past."
The latest purchase is the firm's sixth Premium in its 80-strong mixed fleet.
