M20 truck park plans hit by delay

Thursday 26 February 2009 11:05

Kent County Council (KCC) has admitted that plans for a truck park next to the M20 are unlikely to be submitted before the summer.

The council had hoped to have the plans ready by the spring, but a spokesman says that carrying out the necessary environmental surveys is taking longer than anticipated.

While the Aldington site, just off the M20 and next to the high-speed railway line, was identified in March 2008, no formal plans have yet been submitted.

A KCC spokesman says: "We are still very much committed to this plan and hope to have it ready to submit to planning in the summer."
