With Truckfest now the only major trucking event left standing after the cancellation of the NEC Show, organisers Live Promotions report that: "Virtually all the major manufacturers will be at Peterborough this year, represented either at factory level or through their distributors, with Isuzu the latest to announce that they'll be attending with their latest heavier range of trucks."
Government departments are also recognising the importance of the Peterborough show, with stands already booked by the Highways Agency, VOSA, DVLA, DSA, Freight Best Practice and HM Revenue & Customs.
Live Promotions MD Colin Ward says: "It's an important year for us – we realise that we'll attract, many more visitors this year, from the larger haulier sector who might otherwise have attended the CV Show. But with the cancellation of the CV Show we're particularly pleased that manufacturers and distributors are sticking by Truckfest during what's definitely a very difficult year for them, and the haulage industry as well."
Truck & Driver will have a massive presence at the East of England Showground as part of its forthcoming 25th Anniversary celebrations. Showcased on the stand will be the three trucks recently used by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond in the controversial Top Gear BBC TV programme – as well a large number of custom trucks and a special Iveco Stralis competition. T&D's regular free driver health-check service will also be operating on the stand, which will also play host to visiting TruckNetUK forum members.
Truckfest Peterborough takes place over the May Bank Holiday weekend of May 3 and 4 at the East of England Showground. For more information call
